State Names To Be Translated Into English
The immigration
bill likely to pass through congress calls for the designation of
English as the national language. In response, state and local
governments across the nation are changing their names to comply
with the law.
The State of
Wyoming will now be known as “The State Of Mountains And Valleys
Alternating,” after legislators voted to translate the Delaware
Indian word. It is unclear whether the thirty-eight [38] other
states with non-English names will follow suit, as America attempts
to purge itself of unsavory foreign influence.
Other communities
that are considering translation include the City of Boca Raton,
Florida, which would be renamed “The City of Rat Mouth,” and the
Commonwealth of Massachusetts, which would become “The Commonwealth
Of Large Hill Place."
The city of
Philadelphia’s name change promises to be slightly more
controversial, as some Christian groups have opposed the city's new
moniker, “Brotherly Love.” |
